Morgan Bierschenk

Today I am joined by Morgan Bierschenk, Founder and CEO of GEOSHIP.

Morgan brings entrepreneurial grit, vision, broad technical knowledge, and years of engineering and program management experience to Geoship. After obtaining a BS from Washington State University in Information Systems and Industrial Engineering, Morgan spent six years in various engineering roles at Intel Corporation including Programmer Analyst, Project Manager, Knowledge Management Program Manager, and Industrial Engineer.

In 2004 Morgan became disillusioned with his tech career, and spent two years travelling alone around Asia and India. Upon returning to the US, Morgan began learning natural building techniques with the intention of building a small home close to nature, and teaching himself to be an artist. Unable to afford land, he instead restored a 43-foot classic wooden sailboat, taught himself to sail, and spent six more years cruising around the Pacific. Morgan’s time travelling and sailing was an opportunity to observe society from the outside and discover new unprecedented opportunities to shift the paradigm. During that time, Morgan collaborated with WikiLeaks and the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative, to explore new forms of democracy and currency.

In 2013 Morgan started building a conventional house with his brother Adam who pioneered the CNC mold making industry. During this process the brothers started questioning WHY — with all of our technology — are we still building with sticks and nails? How does nature build protective shells? Why does it feel so good to step outside the boxes we live in? In 2015 Morgan founded Geoship, to engineer a new kind of home. He also joined the Ceramic Cement Corporation (C3) and became an expert in the new material science of chemically bonded ceramics. When he is not working to build a better world, Morgan enjoys decoding the thought structures that limit our minds and political systems through meditation, time in nature, and time with family.
