Today I am joined by Jeff Grass, CEO HUNGRY, a national tech-enabled food and engagement platform that provides business and event catering by a network of top local chefs.
For over 20 years, Jeff Grass has been a serial entrepreneur motivated by big, game-changing ideas. His track record of building great teams and successful, people-centric businesses has led to the creation of several services aimed at making the world a better place: PayMyBills.com, an online bill management service; buySAFE, Inc. an e-commerce shopping guarantee that builds trust and confidence between online retailers and shoppers; and LiveSafe a mobile app that uses crowd-sourced safety intelligence to empower users to take a more active role in their safety and security.
In 2017, Jeff partnered with brothers Eman and Shy Pahlevani to launch his most recent venture, HUNGRY—first-of-its-kind food delivery and logistic platform offering business and event catering, contracted meal delivery services, chef-centric pop-ups, virtual chef experiences, and home meal delivery. In 2021, HUNGRY raised its Series C funding round bringing total funding to $55 million.
Jeff earned his MBA from The Wharton School in 1999, and his BBA in Finance and Economics from James Madison University in 1992. He returned to JMU in 2015 to serve on the Board of Visitors and has served as the Chair of the Audit and Governance Committees. He currently resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and two children. When he’s not thinking of the next great startup idea, Jeff can be found traveling, running marathons (keep an eye out for the guy without shoes), or spending time with his family.
