Today I am joined by Richard Lamondin, Co-Founder and CEO of EcoSystems. EcoSystems is a water and energy conservation company whose mission is to address the challenges of water security, housing affordability, climate change, and sea-level rise—all while proving that conservation is good for business. The firm, founded by brothers Richard and Lawrence Lamondin, earned the rank of 48 on the 2020 Inc. 5000. Their programs have made a significant impact on more than 150,000 people across 28 states, saving more than 3 billion gallons of freshwater, more than 85,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide and more than 120 million kilowatt-hours in energy savings.
Under Richard’s strategic leadership, EcoSystems is one of the leading water and energy conservation firms in the country, recognized as the second-fastest growing firm in Florida and ranked No. 48 in 2020 and No. 75 in 2019 on the Inc 5000.
Richard and his team are making a lasting impact on Americans and their environment. EcoSystems’ efforts have impacted more 150,000 people across 28 states and have saved more than 3 billion gallons of freshwater, more than 85,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide and more than 120 million kilowatt-hours in energy savings to date.
One of Richard’s most notable projects is the completion of the “largest water conservation retrofit in Colorado history” according to Denver Water. As a result, Richard directed the administration of Denver Water’s Low Income and Non-Profit conservation program.
In 2019, Richard was selected as Endeavor Miami’s Entrepreneur of the Year and was named one of South Florida Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. He has been recognized for his expertise by Forbes, the Miami Herald, Multifamily Executive magazine, and NBC6 Miami. Beyond his role as CEO, Richard is on the board of Project T.H.U.G., a fellowship program for teens that disrupts the cycle of poverty and violence by providing higher education and vocational opportunities. He previously sat on the boards of Empowered Youth and Miami’s Next Leaders, an organization that recruits, develops, and empowers young progressive leaders to ensure a more sustainable and inclusive Miami for all.
