Today I am joined by David Wolff, Founder of Ocean Habitats, a non-profit committed to ocean conservation through installation of Mini-Reefs.
David Wolff first answered the siren’s song while attending the University of South Florida. In order to fulfill his graduation requirements, he volunteered at a research lab and it was there, in between beakers and test tubes, that David fell in love with aquaculture work. The idea for Ocean Habitats was born from this experience. He built early prototypes but, unfortunately, the timing wasn’t right so the idea was shelved. David went on to build his real estate business and over the course of 16 years, it mushroomed to 18 companies with hundreds of employees and thousands of vendors selling billions of dollars of real estate annually. The lure of the sea beckoned and after selling his real estate empire, he returned to his first love, the ocean.
