Retired Colonel Dr. Liam Collins is the Executive Director of the Viola Foundation and a permanent member with the Council on Foreign Relations.. He was a career Special Forces officer, who conducted multiple operational deployments Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, South America, and Ukraine to name a few. He was the founding Director of the Modern War Institute at West Point and previously served as the Director of the Combating Terrorism Center. He is a respected expert on terrorism and modern war and his research has been cited by the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security & Counterterrorism and many others. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in Aerospace from the United States Military Academy, and a Master in Public Affairs and a PhD from Princeton University. He won the Army’s Best Ranger Competition in 2007, was selected as the Army’s Coach of the Year in 2011. He is currently serving as the executive director of the Viola Foundation and is a permanent member with the Council on Foreign Relations.
Sean Drake is the Founder & Managing Partner of Stony Lonesome Group where he serves as the Managing General Partner and Chief Investment Officer. He is also the Founder & Chairman of the Board for Pathfinder Solutions Group that has developed expertise in SBIR Grant Funding. He was previously a high-performance coach at the US Olympic Training Center working with USA Cycling and USA Triathlon. He also served as an Infantry Captain in the US Army. He has a bachelors from United States Military Academy, West Point and a master’s from the University of Colorado.
Retired Squadron Commander Glenn Cowan is the founder of One9 Investments that invests in dual-use technology companies validated by special operations units and national security intelligence partners. He was an Assaulter Officer in Canadian Special Operations Forces National Mission Unit. As a Squadron Commander, Glenn specialized in leadership, command and strategic planning and successfully translated these skills with the creation of a venture capital fund that invests utilizing the principles of special operations planning, risk mitigation and execution.
Former U.S. Navy SEAL Team Officer Eric Perreca is a Co-Managing Director of Onset Capital & Blue Marble Capital Partners. He was previously co-head of energy infrastructure investing at Hunt Alternative Energy Investments, CEO and President of Scatec Solar North America, Managing Director of Innovation Investments, and an M&A Technology Investment Banker at Thomas Weisel Partners. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy
Dr. Bob Baxley who is the CTO of Bastille Networks. He is an expert in machine learning algorithms for software defined and cognitive radios. Prior to Bastille, he was the Director of the Software Defined Radio Lab at Georgia Tech, where he led research projects for organizations including NSF, ONR, Army, DoD, Air Force and DARPA. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and patents, is the recipient of various research awards, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He also led the GTRI team that competed in the DARPA Spectrum Challenge and placed second out of 90 teams.
And we have Caleb Carr, founder and CEO of Vita Inclinata Technologies. Prior to Vita, he was in management roles at Uber and Microsoft. He has over a decade of Search and Rescue and helicopter rescue ops experience. Caleb is currently a candidate to be a Patent Agent and JD.
