Welcome to the Monday Climate Change interview with Scott Amyx. Today, I’m joined by Mark Steines who is known as one of the entertainment industry’s most dynamic and well-respected television journalists. Mark a three-time Emmy winner and has interviewed thousands of A-list actors, producers, musicians, personalities and athletes.
He is currently the host of the new National Geographic series, “Animal ER Live” and is co-host of KTLA’s Rose Parade broadcast with Leeza Gibbons. His hosting skills helped set the gold standard in entertainment news while working at “Entertainment Tonight” for more than 17 years. Steines began his tenure as the show’s leading entertainment reporter and weekend anchor. He was then elevated to co-host alongside Mary Hart from 2005 – 2012.
Following Entertainment Tonight, Mark co-hosted Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family,” helping the show earn three Emmy nominations. For six years he entertained and informed the show’s audience with an array of relevant lifestyle topics, do-it-yourself projects, cooking segments, and interviews with celebrities and experts.
Recently he appeared as a celebrity guest on GSN’s “Caroline & Friends,” and “Daily Draw,” as well as, HGTV’s “Design Star.”
Other television hosting credits include ,Extra, 2008 Miss America Live!, VH1’s Greatest TV Rock & Roll Moments, VH1’s The 25 Sexiest, and Golden Karma Awards, recognizing international philanthropic efforts, Mark Burnett’s AOL interactive online game, Gold Rush, and the Hollywood Christmas Parade.
He received an Emmy award for the KCAL-TV special “Beyond Endurance: Madagascar,” an Emmy and Golden Mic award for Beyond Endurance: Borneo, an Emmy as host of the 2005 Hollywood Christmas Parade, a National Iris Award for the special The Big Business of Sports Endorsements, and national recognition by the Women’s Sports Foundation for his impartial reporting on the Women’s National Football League.
