Astor Perkins’ All Things Space & Survival October 2nd Event: Astor Perkins Space Panel.

We are excited to kick off our next session — the Space panel. The panel will be moderated by Scott Amyx. Joining us on the panel:

Eric Stallmer is the outgoing President of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation or CSF, which is the largest trade organization dedicated to promoting the development of commercial spaceflight. Under his leadership, CSF has crafted the modern Commercial Space Launch Act.
- He has been appointed to the National Space Council User Advisory Group.
- He serves as co-chair of the Federal Aviation Administration Airspace Integration Aviation Rulemaking Committee and is a member of the Space Launch and Reentry ARC and the Spaceport ARC.
- He is also a member of the FAA’s Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee or COMSTAC.
- He has testified before both the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology as well as the Senate Commerce committee. He encouraged Congress to support policies that will facilitate growth and innovation in the industry, and maintain the American space sector’s competitive leadership.

Dr. Adam Van Etten is SpaceNet Advisory Council Co-Chair and Chief Data Scientist for In-Q-Tel. At In-Q-Tel he focuses on applied machine learning topics of interest to the US Government. Adam currently focuses on managing and assisting with the myriad In-Q-Tel Labs research projects, as well as helping to guide the strategic vision of the lab. Prior to In-Q-Tel, Adam was a Solutions Architect and Data Scientist for Data Tactics working at DARPA developing tools and scalable algorithms for big data analysis on a variety of projects. Adam received his Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in physics and astronomy from the University of Washington. Please welcome Dr. Adam Van Etten.
Joining us is Ola Sars, whom you met in the prior session who is the Chairman & CEO of Soundtrack Your Brand & Prior COO of Beats Music, acquired by Apple.
Benny Buller is the founder and CEO of VELO3D, a leader in additive manufacturing. Prior to VELO3D, he was an investor at Khosla Ventures. He has also worked at Applied Materials on high-precision inspection and manufacturing systems for semiconductors. Later, he founded First Solar’s device physics team that led to a more than 50% increase in solar cell efficiency. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Physics from Jerusalem University and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
Dr. Ioana Cozmuta is the Managing Partner of Gravity Free and CEO of G-Space. Her work at the confluence of Space and Earth is based on a 19 years career in academia, at NASA and with startups in the areas of physics, computational chemistry, materials research and data science. She has worked on projects for Hypersonics, Stardust, Mars Science Laboratory, the International Space Station. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and a post-doc in computational chemistry and material design from Caltech and Genomics and Biotechnology from Stanford.
J. Brant Arseneau is the founding partner at 9Point8 Capital and Spaced Ventures. Prior, he was a Chief Information Officer for large banks, work in electronic trading, renewable energy derivatives and capital markets and have also founded several fintech startups
Aaron Burnett is the founder and CEO of Spaced Ventures. He is a self-proclaimed space geek planning to retire to a sustainable Martian colony in the next 30 years. He has over a decade of experience in growth marketing and community building for Fortune 500 and startup tech companies.
