Interview with Brandon Suh, CEO of Lunit

Today I am joined by Brandon Suh, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., CEO of Lunit. With AI, Lunit aims to make data-driven medicine the new standard of care, with focus on cancer. Lunit develops AI solutions for precision diagnostics and therapeutics to find the right diagnosis at the right cost and the right treatment for the right patients. The Series C startup has raised a total of $46.5M in funding.

Founded in 2013, Lunit has been internationally acknowledged for its advanced, state-of-the-art technology and its application in medical images. Their technology has been recognized at international competitions such as ImageNet (5th place, 2015), TUPAC 2016 (1st place), and Camelyon 2017 (1st place), surpassing top companies like Google, IBM, and Microsoft.

Brandon studied medicine at Seoul National University and is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine, trained at Seoul National University Hospital. Prior to medical school, he studied biological sciences in KAIST and also received master’s degrees in both Public Health (MPH) and Business Administration (MBA). Brandon has much experience in both basic and clinical research, having published 30+ research articles in renowned scientific journals. As CEO of Lunit, his vision is to lead the company to become a world-leading medical AI company by developing unprecedented cutting-edge imaging biomarkers that empower clinicians to make effective and cost-efficient diagnosis and treatment decisions.
