Welcome to Innovating with Scott Amyx. I’m your host Scott Amyx. Today I am joined by Evan Brandoff, CEO and Zubin Teherani, COO of LeagueSide. They recently closed a $1.7 million Series A round.

LeagueSide enables brands to directly reach the 35 million families involved in youth sports in a cost effective and impactful way. It’s a turnkey platform that enables brands to sponsor youth sports leagues at scale that drives millions in revenues, lowering the cost of youth sports participation.

Evan Brandoff, CEO, LeagueSide

Growing up, when Evan Brandoff wasn’t in school, he was playing sports. He played almost every sport possible, experiencing first-hand the important lessons of camaraderie and tackling challenges as a team. As he got older, some of his close friends had to stop playing because of the high costs – travel teams can be upwards of $5,000 per child. Brandoff hated the idea that costs prohibited his friends from being able to play.

Evan co-founded LeagueSide at the age of 23 and now, as CEO, sets the vision for the company. LeagueSide helps companies achieve their marketing goals while simultaneously giving more kids the opportunity to play. He joined Venture for America after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin and served as the VP of Business Development for Benzinga in Detroit. While at Benzinga, Evan developed content licensing deals with companies including TD Ameritrade and helped create the Benzinga FinTech Awards.

Zubin Teherani, COO, LeagueSide

From a young age, Zubin Teherani has been obsessed with building something from scratch. As a first-generation American, Teherani was encouraged by his parents’ belief in the ‘American Dream’ to make a positive impact and help other families who did not have the same opportunities that he was afforded.

While Zubin was studying at Georgetown University, he worked as the General Manager of the largest student-run business in the US. The sense of fulfillment he experienced from creating a workplace culture that students loved, set him off on the trajectory that would eventually lead him to co-found LeagueSide alongside his best friend and fellow Venture for America fellow.

As co-founder and COO of LeagueSide, Teherani is motivated by building a great place to work and maximizing LeagueSide’s impact on local communities and families. He is focused on building win-win opportunities where families can proudly cheer from the sidelines, just as his did, while enabling companies to achieve their marketing goals.
