Interview with Christopher Clark, Artist for Lucasfilm and Marvel

Today I am joined by Christopher Clark, an artist for Lucasfilm, Marvel, Colorado Rockies, Louisville Slugger bats and Fender Guitars.

He signed with Lucasfilm and Marvel Fine Art as an officially licensed artist in June 2016 and immediately published a variety of his paintings. Christopher is Lucasfilm’s #1 selling artist, and very proud to have George Lucas himself as a collector. Lucas insists on having first right of refusal on Christopher’s future Star Wars originals. Christopher has been Lucasfilm’s featured artist at 2017 Star Wars Celebration, and 2019 will be Christopher’s fourth year as Lucasfilm and Marvel’s featured artist at San Diego Comic Con. He currently travels the country showing his art with the Incredible Art Gallery of Denver. Other clients include the Colorado Rockies, Major League Baseball, Louiseville Slugger Baseball Bats, and Fender Guitars.

Christopher has been an artist since early childhood, when he would watch Bob Ross on PBS and mimic the famed oil painter’s art with crayons. He considers himself a self-educated artist, with his studies ranging from personal training with contemporary masters, to classical academic art technique, with much inspiration from 19th Century art and the Impressionist Movement. Christopher lived in Italy for a time, immersing himself in Italian culture and art, which continues to influence his painting.

Christopher has become more involved in climate change activism over the past several years. Among many things, he has been finding ways to use his art to tell the story of climate change and bring awareness to his audience.
